 UNIT 6: THE ENVIRONMENRT 
A. LÝ THUYẾT
I. Adjectives and Adverbs: Tính từ (adj) và trạng từ (adv).
 - Tính từ dùng để bổ nghĩa cho danh từ (N) trong câu.
 Ex: It is an interesting book
 - Trạng từ dùng để bổ nghĩa cho động từ (V) trong câu, hoặc cĩ thể bổ nghĩa cho tính từ
 Ex: She sings beautifully.
 - Khi muốn chuyển 1 tính từ (adj) thành 1 trạng từ (adv), ta lấy tính từ + ly.
 => Form: Adj + Ly Adv
Ex: extreme extremely (cực kỳ) 
 careful carefully (cẩn thận)
 - Đối với các tính từ tận cùng là Y, trước khi thêm ly ta đổi Y i.
Ex: easy easily (dễ dàng) 
 noisy noisily (ồn ào)
+ Chú ý : Một số trạng từ đặc biệt như good => well và một số từ khơng đổi ở cả hình thức 
tính từ và trạng từ như fast, fair, early, late, hard
II. Adverb clauses of reason: Mệnh đề trạng từ chỉ lý do.
 Ta dùng as = since = because (bởi vì) để chỉ 1 lý do, 1 nguyên nhân.
Ex: - He failed his exam because/as/since/ he didn’t work hard.
 - Because/As/Since it is late, they are in hurry.
 => S + V. + because/as/since + S + V ..
 Because/As/Since + S + V ... , S + V ...
III. S + Be + adj + that + S + V.: 
 Chữ “that” được dịch nghĩa “rằng” hoặc “là”.
Ex: I’m happy that you changed your decision. 
 (Tôi thấy vui là bạn đã thay đổi quyết định của bạn).
Ex: My mother is afraid that the milkman will not arrive on time.
 (Mẹ tôi e rằng người mang sữa không đến đúng giờ). 
Note: Mệnh đề “ that clause” được dùng với một số tính từ như : 
 “afraid, glad, sorry, sure (chắc chắn), eager (hăng hái), anxious (lo lắng) ,happy, 
pleased (vui, hài lịng), annoyed (phiền), proud (tự hào), delighted (vui), disappointed (thất 
vọng),”
IV. Conditional Sentences (If Sentences): Type 1 Câu điều kiện loại 1
Ex: If I finish my homework, I will go to the concert
 = I will go to the concert if I finish my homework. 
 * If clause: If I finish my homework, 
 * Main clause: I will go to the concert 
 1. Form: Công thức
 If clause: Mệnh đề đk Main clause: Mệnh đề chính
 If + S + V1.., S + will/shall + Vo
 2. Use: Cách dùng 
 Diễn tả một điều kiện có thể xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc ở tương lai. 33. You’ll get a cold if you _________ your warm clothes.
